Fish Anna Maria Island With A Local Charter Fishing Guide

October 2019 Fishing “Turns On”

—October 2019 fishing around Bradenton and Anna Maria Island has been as exciting as it gets. The weather was on a welcome “cooling trend,” and the fish started to get excited as well. There were redfish dumping out of the rivers with each rainstorm, providing some great opportunities to catch and release mature redfish in shallow water.  Snook fishing built up to a fever pitch before the inevitable winter lean months when the water temperature chills. —My clients are having a blast catching snook, seatrout, redfish, spanish mackerel, mangrove snapper and more in Tampa Bay.

—This is the month that I start to venture into the Gulf on calmer days looking for mangrove snapper, spanish mackerel, gag grouper, tripletail and permit.  You definitely need a calm day to make this work, but when it all comes together it can make for an awesome day!
