Spotted Sea Trout

Although winter is usually the season of choice for big female sea trout, we managed to get half a dozen 20 inchers today. The larger females may be wandering back inshore after their spawn, and we were more than happy to reunite.
Light line, small hooks, and tiny whitebait seemed to draw more bites than big baits today. It also allowed for the lazy, high-noon fish to catch the baits more easily.
Try your luck by fishing the grass flats, and cast your baits in the sandy patches scattered throughout. A moving tide is more productive than a dead one in most cases, especially while it is hot.
