Tarpon, Flounder, Grouper
 
—Summer time fishing around Anna Maria Island is in full effect, and migrating tarpon are being caught inside Tampa Bay, and adjacent Egmont Key. I’m seeing best results using live crabs and threadfin herring.

—Snook, seatrout and redfish are keeping my clients busy in the backwater.
—Fishing some of our nearshore reefs/wrecks/ledges is producing a few nice red groupers, mangrove snapper, big flounder, spanish mackeral, bonito, and gag grouper.
—Weather is always on my mind in the summer time, afternoon thunderstorms are the norm, not the exception. Morning trips are a little cooler, and it’s usually not quite as crowded on the water as the afternoons.
