October 2019 Fishing “Turns On”
—October 2019 fishing around Bradenton and Anna Maria Island has been as exciting as it gets. The weather was on a welcome “cooling trend,” and the fish started to get excited as well. There were redfish dumping out of the rivers with each rainstorm, providing some great opportunities to catch and release mature redfish in shallow water.

—The dog days of summer are upon us here on sunny Anna Maria Island.
It’s smoking hot by mid-day, which somewhat limits fishing options later in the day. One great option is permit fishing on many of our near shore wrecks and reefs off of the Anna Maria Island coast. Many of these structures are located less than 9 miles off of our gorgeous beaches.

—The weather, and fishing, here on Anna Maria Island has been phenomenal throughout the month of June.
—Calm seas and clear skies, have allowed my clients and me the opportunity to spend some time fishing near shore (up to 9 miles offshore) in the Gulf of Mexico. Out there, I’m looking for spanish mackerel, mangrove snapper, gag grouper, permit and cobia.
